Possible CV joints

I have a 91 S10 blazer and when slowing down it sounds as if the brakes are down to metal and grabbing. I replaced rotors and brake pads to no avail. I think it is the cv joints as one of the boots is busted. If it is the cv joints, how hard are they to change? Thank you for any help.

They arent too bad to change. Pretty reasonably priced too (about $70 a side). In the how too section DCFlux did a write up on how to do it for a second generation blazer. The first generations are extremely similiar in design and most of the instructions will be the same. Read through that and if you have any questions post away and we are glad to help.

Sorry, quick question does anyone know about how long it takes?

Should take about a full day to do both sides. Unfortuneatly i speak from experience on that. That was a long hot summer day, LOL.

I asked a fellow blazer owner i work with to look at that i work with. He suggested the wheel bearings. Problem is when looking all i can find is the assembly. Is it possible to buy the bearing and having it pressed in?

The wheel bearing / hub assembly is only available as an assembly.

I replaced the right front cv axle. While this part was pretty much shot.....Its still making a grinding, scraping, clunk noise when the truck is in motion . Any Ideas?

Have you checked to see if anything is rubbing on the tires/wheels/rims when you are driving. That could be a possible explanation.
