Shift Linkage adjust help

I have searched the forum but can't find what I'm looking for.  I have a '97 Blazer and yesterday when I pulled into the driveway, put it in Park and it kept rolling.  I killed it and then I couldn't start it again or shift it out of Park.  It acted like the gear selector was in park but the trany wasn't.  I removed the center console to get to the gear selector and manually moved it from Park to Neutral.  Then it started.  It shifts fine into every gear except Park.  I got under the car and watched the shift arm thing the shift cable is connected to and had my wife shift gears.  Again, it moved into every gear but Park.  I can manually move the arm into park so it looks like the linkage needs to be adjusted.
 
Does this sound right?  If so,  can anyone tell me how to adjust it?  I think it's a 4L60E.  Thanks.
 

It sounds like an internal transmission problem like a park lock actuator rod just inside the tranny pan.
This picture is obviously upside down but #85 is the park lock actuator. It may be loose or bent. #81 is the park pawl.
I would suggest removing the pan and inspecting for anything that seems loose (like the 8mm or 10mm bolts),

Or you might want to take it to a tranny shop if there's one you trust.

its probably a broken shift cable the same thing happened to me and i took it to a trans. shop and thats what it was it was about 220 to fix it and it takes like 2 hours for them to do.
