Hey y'all my buddy Thomas is tryin to sell his truck. He told me I could give him $1000 and take over payments ($260/mo...owes $1500 on it). It's a '97 Chevy S10 with the 2.2 liter engine, 5 spd manual tranny. It's got just over 100k miles on it but has been giving him a lot of problems. It'd be a good project truck but that's about it, it's nothing I could drive everyday. It's got:
-Full airbag suspension that lays frame in the rear
-Partially tweeded interior
-18" Niche Shock w/ brand new Kumho tires
-Brand new cylinder head
The biggest thing is that it's got a knock and it idles rough. When we put the new head on, he just tightened the rocker arms down as much as he could...and they're only supposed to be 27-32 lbs/ft, so I'm wondering if maybe he collapsed some lifters by overtightening the rocker arms?
Anyway, that's about $300 more out of my pocket each month for something I might not get to drive much until it's fixed. It's a phat ass lil truck but do y'all think it's worth it?
