Ya the more money I can get the beter of course, but I don't want to be stuck trying to sell forever. There is one in my local paper for $6,000 so maybe more than $4000 isn't too crazy. More opinions please.

List it for what the blue book lists it for. You can always negotiate down to the $4,000 due to the problems. Blue book assumes the vehicle is in good condition, and has an average of 12,000 miles per year of age.

I had the same cylinder misfire on mine. It turned out to be a sticking poppet on one of the fuel injector lines. You'll most likely need a new CSFI unit. You can get one from lindertech.com. All the technical stuff is on their site. Basically here it is. ( We have written many newsletter and magazine articles about the General Motors Central Sequential Fuel Injection (CSFI) system. You know the one; it's on the 1996 through 2001 4.3L/5.0L & 5.7L that suffers from stuck poppet valves. Many of you have tried to free the poppets as recommended by G.M. and clean these units. Or maybe you have even replaced the injector-poppet for the cylinder(s) that had the misfire. Then you find in a week or two the vehicle is back in your shop again for another misfire code. You don't know what went wrong, it ran great when it left, but now you are back at square one again. Well here's what happening, CSFI is similar to the CPI system used on previous 4.3L engines. Rather than one maxi style injector feeding all the poppets and firing every crankshaft revolution, it uses one injector for each poppet that is fired sequentially. This gave the poppets a hot soak period before they fired again. This made these units susceptible to tarnish build up on the poppets and caused the poppets to stick. G.M. has even written lengthy tech bulletins about unsticking seized poppets and servicing this system but they still stick. So what is the answer?
CALL LTS @ 888-809-3835 ) I've dealt with lindertech before, and they have really good support and customer service. You should be able to change it out yourself in a couple hours. It costs around $300. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info but luckily I didn't end up needing that. The car is all set now and up for sale. Here is a list of everything I did since I got it 3 weeks ago. Upper and lower ball joints were replaced on both sides, pads were replaced on both front sides, new gas tank, gas line, 02 sensor, rear wiper motor, 3 brand new tires, interior detail, and the outside has a fresh coat of wax. The truck was just passed NY inspection today. It's running great and looks aswesome. I have it in the paper for $4300 OBO. So if anybody's looking for a Blazer or knows someone who needs one please spread the word!!

Thanks! I spent a lot of time detailing as well as on mechanical stuff. Finding a buyer is proving to be hard though so far

With gas going to $3 a gallon, you probably are going to have some trouble selling it. You might have to wait till the fall when people start thinking 4X4 for the coming snow.

Regardless of gas prices there is always someone who wants/needs an SUV. I'm only looking to get
$3500 out of it so please tell your friends or buy it if you need one. I will even offer a $100 finder's fee.

It seems the heater cores on these things block pretty easy. A pretty serious flush might take care of the problem. I am getting ready to do both upper and lower ball joints on mine as well as the hub assembly. This should be fun. I have air tools so hopefully that will be the big help I need.

I wouldnt do it. Think about the gas prices... they are going UP.. no one is going to want to buy it off you that fast. I'm having trouble selling a 1994 Saturn SC2 which is GREAT on gas!!! There are dealerships drying up all over NY area and NJ as well. I pass gas stations running out of gas and also hiking up the prices every few hours. Just a little thought from the other side of the spectrum.
