I plan on installing a new cd recieve in my blazer but what I noticed is that they all are like 22 rms x 4 channels. Only thing is that there are 6 different speakers in the blazer. What am I missing here? I am also putting to 12" subs in the back.

Ah they generaly do the power ratings by 4 outputs cause most vehicles dont have 6 speakers. It'll all wire up via the wiring harness so 6 are playing along with you woofer.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the help. Does anyone know the speaker sizes for a 2000 chevy blazer 4dr 4wd? I am looking on crutchfield and I think they are saying my suv has the following:

Factory replacement info:

In-dash stereo
5-7/16" depth; Size code E

Front speakers
Dash : 4x6"
Front Door : 6-1/2"

Rear speakers
Rear Door : 6-1/2"

What about the dash speakers?

on mine the top ones are merely tweeters.

Some models dont have speakers up top

mine were only tweeters as well but i do believe that they are 4" x 6" up there if you have speakers. and yes there are 6.5" in the doors

and ignore that crap about the size of the cd player. have to get a dash kit which makesize not so important. A din will fit with majority of dash kits, you can get a din and a half, but will run into problems getting the correct dash kit.

oh yeah. just got to your friendly neighborhood wally world, and they'll have the dash kit, or should. it beats paying 30+ for one at advance or somewhere, and it works just as good.

I really am wondering what size those tweeters are in the dash though.

to be honest i have no idea. mine were littly crappy ones before i replaced'em. it was kinda sad, i was riding around with three sets of tweeters before i even looked in the dash, haha.

if you have them, they will be one inch tweeters.

lol when i bought my components i had to cut a bigger hole for the tweeters....WOO DREMEL!!!!! (i think thats how u spell it lol)

they are a one inch tweeter, just the smallest one that I have ever seen, you will have to either cut in a bigger hole to get newones to fit, or just get a sheet of ABS plastic and make your own mount. If you have a torch, you can point the tweeter any way that you want to.

For some reason when I look down through the messhy metal covering of the front speakers it looks like 4x6"s for some reason. They look much to big for a 1inch tweeter. If I go to a best buy, shouldnt they have the exact measurments and every thing for every model?

pull the cover off and see what you got!!! then post up if you want better speakers than BB sells.

there 1" tweeters mounted on a 4x6 plate. i removed the whole plate on mine and just put some good 4x6's in place instead of the tweeters...

Do you think thats a good idea? Have 6 speakers instead of 4 speakers and 2 tweeters? Where are you getting your trebble or what ever? Does it sound good after you did that?

i think it sounds way better...it's a 2 way 4x6 so there's still a tweeter on each one but it's also got more mid range. you won't be dissapointed. just find a GOOD 2-way 4x6, i recommend looking at infinity, memphis,or rockford fosgate. Also, i have the 2 4x6's in the dash, 6 1/2's in the doors, 6x9's in the back, and 1" tweeters next to them above each ashtray and i think it sounds dam good...

Whats the difference between 1, 2, 3, and 4 way speakers? I didnt want to do this but my sound system I am putting together is quite a bit so I dont think I will be able to do it. I plan on replacing all 6 speakers, cd reciever, 1 kenwood amp, 2 rockford subs with a ported box. So I was going to bring it to circuit city and let them install it. I checked their rates and they are actually pretty good. I know this may seem silly but will they set it all up right, figure out if they need to wire it as a circuit, parallel and so on so when I go and play it my amp or subs dont blow because they wired it all wrong?

no wayyyy man. do it yourself. take pride in doing it yourself. you always learn better when you do it yourself. trust me. caught a couple things on fire and learned what not to do.

x3. don't ever feel stupid because you dont' know how to hook somethin' up. you'd be stupid not to ask someone if you don't know. that's why we're here.

Alright you guys convinced me. I will try hooking it all up my self. I will probably have to get a new dash kit for my cd reciever since nothing fits in. Will I need to re-wire all the speakers when I put the new ones in since the stock wire may not be big enough?

nope, they should have connectors on them, you just unplug the old speaker and plug in the new one on the imput slots provided.
