Use zip ties instead of the wire. The engine vibration may cause the wire to rub into the spark plug wire. IMO
My truck has consumed tools too. Sockets mostly 1/4 in 10mm . They are in tool heaven.

did you check your local parts store??? as for the tool, just roll you truck over, should shake loose any tools that might have fallen in there, as well as flatten out your head!!!

I use zip ties as well as the clips...I've burned a few wires enough to learn my lesson. I'm not sure where you can get new clips. Probably easy to find at a parts store.
P.S. hillbilly - love your sig....my fave quote is: "The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw."

He was being funny, like as in, if you try to pick up your truck and shake it for the missing torx, you'll get squished.
Hmm...have you tried NAPA?
Just out of curiosity, how did you get booted from another forum?

haha ahh...im terrible with jokes...ummm...napa...i just found that we had one the other day...i might go running around to other stores today. but i dont think theyd have them....say they dont....is there anywhere online?
I got booted because when I was new, I made 2 posts about the same thing because nobody answered my question...and then now....80 some posts later...I posted to an old thread...but this guy was gettin 4 MPG...and i felt bad and i figured id throw out some things that maybe 4 months later he hadnt dont yet. and the mod was all "meh"....i dont like that mod at all..seems nobody else does either.

I agree on the zip ties. If done with multiple ties, you can even space them out. Doesn't look too bad, but you definitely can pick up a universal v8 kit from pretty much any auto parts store and use it.

so yea I went to autozone, napa, O'Reileys, Fastenal, and Wallace Chevrolet Dealership. They all don't have them.

Really? That shocks me

I can't believe a DEALERSHIP wouldn't even have them. They can't even order them in? Odd.
And that's ridiculous about getting banned over something so stupid like that. Hell, it's a friggin' car forum. Relax, buddy. What you did isn't that serious. Geez...that guy needs to lighten up.
Maybe for now just zip tie them up. I feel it works well using both the clips and the ties, so if you rig it up right with just ties it wil be effective. If only for a temporarry thing until you can find the clips, anyway. I don't understand why you can't find any.

Check out Summit Racing. They sell all different clips and wires in multiple colors. They should have what you're looking for.

as long as you don't drop any tools or screws down the intake or oil filler, or power steering, or anything that will end up in the midst of a bunch of moving metal parts, then you won't have a problem. Under the hood of all my vehicles lies a complete 138 piece craftsman tool set. Or maybe they're just scattered in my back yard. Who knows?

Summit raceing should have what you need. They are on-line.
relax. There isn't ahole back there. Crawl under your truck and reach your hand up on top of the tranny, feel around. There are wires and stuf up there the tools can get hung up in. The only thing bolted to the back of your engine is the tranny.
