Spark plug wires

I just put on ac delco sparkplug wires and had a miss,i was jumping near the wire boot to the heat shield,so i moved the wire away from the heat shield,and now seems ok,is the wire ruined now i donot want it missing in damp weather,or is it a bad wire

Test it by spraying a light water mist on the wire when it's dark with the engine running to see if you get a light show. If not, then the connections are good and there is no exposed section of the wire. You can then unplug the wire from the spark plug (if you can reach it) with the engine running. If you get a dead miss that goes away when you reconnect the wire, then you have a solid wire. Wear a glove when you do the last test.
