spark plugs 2000 blazer

im changing my spark plugs on my blazer this weekend...they look like a pain in the butt to get out...any tips on how i can get them out easier....thanks for the info

I just did my girlfriends plugs and I found that if you jack it up and do it through the wheel well it works pretty good. Also the drivers side middle plug(#3) is a pain, it will help alot if you undo the steering arm. Only 1 bolt and it slides apart and up out of the way, then its a piece of cake.

I just did ours today. Jacked it up and took the wheel off. The rubber guard was already cut/torn apart so I didnt have too much trouble seeing. I barrowed a swivel sparkplug socket from a friend and it worked great. The passenger side was a piece of cake, the drivers side was easy too except the middle plug. I didn't remove the steering arm so I had a little bit of a tough time but not to bad. Just kinda took my time and slowly twisted it in by hand until I had enough room to put the swivel back on.

Just bought a used 2000 Blazer w/ 32,000 original miles on it.  Loaded and in perfect condition, but due for plenty of general maintenance.  I joined this forum just for some ideas on how to get the #3 plug out.  Been driving on five new plugs for a couple weeks now.  Thanks for the ideas.  Based on the reading some of the posts, none of the maintenance comes easy on this thing, so I'm glad to have a place to talk it over.  Thanks again.  Phil

i cut off a cheap chinese extension and welded a 14 mm nut to it, worked great with a 14 mm wrench from the top with my "device" stuck into a plug socket
