Well today i finally changed my plugs and wires on my 99 4 door i just got my exhaust and my cold air intake on so i figured it would be good to do this... i can tell that it has been done before, but this is the funny part..... their was 2 different kinds... on the driver side middle plug it was still the stock one... it was a son of a gun to get out WOW!! then on the passenger side front the plug was the stock one also, took me a good hour or so to get that driver middle out tho man it sucked lol.

That's probably why it was still the original plug... It's a PITA to change, lol

Hopefully you replaced them all with brand new AC Delco Platinum Plugs...
Anything else may cause missfire issues later...

I've been going to the same mechanic for many years and have known him for over 25 years. Every 4th oil change or so I have him change the plugs while it's on the lift. He charges me an extra $30 with my own gapped plugs, and it's worth every penny. It only takes him about 15 minutes extra. I changed them once and was always wondering why there was one brand new spark plug in my center console when I bought the truck. I quickly found out why.

Seems odd to change plugs every 12-15K miles. Do you run your oil 10K between changes? (If it's synthetic, you easily could.)

I drive on average 1000-1200 miles a week. I use straight 40 weight oil year round. Yes, straight 40 weight in New Hampshire no less. Last week it was averaging 8 degrees in the morning and it started right up every morning. At 3000 miles my oil is still pretty clear so I usually change it every 10-12K miles. I know that the oil manufacturers have convinced the auto industry that we all need to change our oil every 3K miles or we will ruin our engines prematurely. I will worry about that when I reach 500K miles. Guess they were wrong. Change my air filter every 2 months religiously. I believe it is as important to have a clean air filter as having clean oil. Took out the K&N when I bought it and use a $5.00 FRAM. I'm supposedly doing everything wrong and my engine runs great at 340+K miles. Go figure!

It depends on your driving habits... If you drive hard, do a lot of towing, or otherwise beat the piss out of your vehicle, change your oil more often, lol.

I couldn't bring myself to "beat the piss" out of my truck, probably why it has lasted so long. It's cool when I went for new tires last month and the guy that pulled it in the bay called all the other guys over to look at the odometer.
