Looks sweet! What are you going to be using for an engine/transmission?
*EDIT* - BTW, I fixed up your post for you. Only problem was that you cannot use caps letters in the hidden *URL* tags (*URL=*)

the motor that will be going in at first is a motor on stand that went 13's in a 76 1/2 ton truck, its a 355 400hp, will use a turbo 350 3600 convertor foot brake off the line loc, should go easy low 12's play around and should go high 11's. Future plans in a few years are 509 or 555 with a glide and a 5500 convertor off a trans brake, replace mopar rear with 40 spline 9" and launch at 5000, I want to go low 10's thats my goal. this year I have back halfed this blazer, got 24 ft tag used and a dually 87 4 door. So I am way ahaid of my origanil plans, I also have a 67 shortbed c10 that my wife and I take to car shows and have big plans for that. It just cost a lot to play with these toys!!!!!!!!!

this blazer is doing two things, it is my race car, and its a street legal tubbed out truck.

For a 355cid to be at 400hp, I'd have to believe it is N/A. A forced induction setup should be much higher than that. Heck, my 0.030 over 350 almost hits the 400hp mark and that wasn't really built to be anything special.
Can't wait to see this thing at the track. You're gonna have to take a video camera with you and let us all see it!

for your info your 30 over 350 is called a 355. What in the hell is n/ a and I never said anything about forshed induction or whatever. I said I have a 355 which is a 30 over 350, its balanced and runs and pulls to 7000rpm. the heads have big valves and have been worked some, got a modest cam, gonna run victor jr, 750 holley and gonna run the dog **** out of it and it will run easy 12's, then in two years or if I get rich in a few weeks I will run a big sb 406,415 or a 434 or maybee go to a bb 502,509, 555 something along those lines. will switch to a glide instead of turbo 350 and will replace rearend with another narrowed, this time a 35 or 40 spline, big pinion, then I will be able to launch at 5500 with no worrys!!!!!

N/A is naturally aspirated and yeah I know that a 0.030 over 350 is a 355. I wasn't refuting anything that you have stated.
Still can't wait to see this thing run! And a BB would just be even more sweet!

Why do people switch to powerglides? I thought the more gears, the better to keep it in the rpm range. But I have heard of many people switching to a powerglide. Is there something that they do better than other trannies or is just preference?

Powerglides can be made to be more efficient and can handle more power than a th350 or th400. Not to mention that in the 1/4 mile, depending on gearing, you really don't need extra gears. If you have a wide enough power band, you can get by actually better with less gears (less time shifting).

A glide is excellent for drag racing, leave on a trans brake at 5000-5500 rpm have a 5500 convertor, launch, pull to desired shift point, shift to high gear and off we go. In drag racing you want to turn the same numbers and times, round after round, they are tough, and if light enough will go damn fast. For a street rig a glide sucks, with small torque convertor, and high gears, but with a drag car, you will see a lot of glides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
