Okay so we thought that my 97 blazer had engine problems. It makes a tapping noise when the engine is running. We thought it was a lifter tapping but i had a mechanic take a ride in it and he said that it was an exhaust leak in my manifold. You can almost not hear it when the engine is idling, but you can really hear it when i accelerate... Any advice?

You have to determine if the leak is between the head and the manifold or the manifold and the y-pipe.  Or you could replace both the manifold gasket (between the cylinder head and the manifold) and the 'donut' (between the manifold and the y-pipe) and make sure you've got it.

In the future, a mod or admin can move a post for you.  No need to repost it again.

Oh, okay thank you very much... so from what i described does it seem that it is an exhaust leak?

Yes it does sound like an exhaust leak, you said the noise gets louder upon acceleration and I know that is what mine does at the moment but I narrowed my leak down to the gaskets on the exhaust manifold!!!
