Very nice! Good price too. Just gotta watch out for the floor rot on those cars.

Did I say Astrovan? I meant Eagle Talon. Turbo and all.

Not to bad, although the 4th gens and the 1st gens are the best. Whats done to the motor? They needed a lot of work from the factory.

Have you ever driven one? The Tuned Port Injected engines (yes even the 305) were VERY respectable, ESPECIALLY in their own day! I have owned 2 TPI's (305 T/A's) and driven MANY others, and every one of them was pretty impressive. The 5.0 mustangs of that era didn't stand a chance to an f-car with a 305 TPI..let alone the 350 TPI. The best thing was they ran very well, and got 21+ MPG!

I have driven a few and I thought they were slow. I guess your defination of fast is different than mine. The 4th gens can beat any of the 3rd gens and get 30mpg I think thats pretty good.

Our definitions of "fast" have nothing to do with the fact that these cars were very good performers "from the factory" Of course the 4th gen cars are faster, they had the LT1, and later the LS1. Like I said IN THEIR DAY (like the year you were BORN...lol) they were very respectable, and certainly technology has come a long way since then. And a 4th gen V8 car never got 30 MPG to my knowlege, maybe squeezed out 25 on the highway though.

Im sure in their day they were good, but like you said the when I was born (22 years ago today) they were probably good.
And 4th gens and Corvettes with a 6 speed can get 30 mpg with out to much trouble. When I buy one sometime this year or next Ill confirm this for you. But you dont buy a performance car for the mileage.
I had 96 Trans Am WS-6. I loved that car, it was red and oh-so-pretty. Two friends of mine have 4th gen TA's. A guy I work with has an 87 TA and I can't stand it. All are in great shape, but I just don't like the older one.
