OK -- this typo just cracked me up...pubic place...hahahaha.
Anyway -- you know what, don't worry about it either way. If he was checking out if an engagement was okay, you might be getting engaged. If he was just chatting with your dad at lunch and doing some male bonding, that's okay too. You can always say no or say okay and anticipate a long engagement. Engagement is not marriage -- it's just the next step in a relationship.
