and soon to meet up with a bunch of crazy canadian's for a canoe trip! waaa hooo!!!

That's right, man! Canoe trip in 9 days!!! Woo-hoo! I promise there won't be any scary animals on this trip, Karin...well, maybe some of my friends are, but none that will mark their territory on your tent! ...OK, I can't promise that either...they might get really drunk and forget where they are Oh, and maybe there might be a few serial killers out there, being that the theme this year is horror, after all!

That's crazy about all the wildlife. I don't think I've ever *knocks on wood* had anything in my campsite (OK, maybe a squirrel or two). I've heard coyotes and wolves in the distance before, but never up close...scary!

wow some pretty interesting camping stories. I guess non of you camp in really remote places?
I could tell you all some good stories of some life long hunting buddies i have gone camping with, but who wants to hear about a bunch of grown men crying and wetting their pants because they were so scared that and i would be on here all night.

Thanks,
drperry

Define remote?
I have been in some pretty remote places. Not once did I feel the urge to cry and **** my pants.

Hell, I lived in remote. We had wildlife in the backyard, pond or driveway non-stop.

I try to avoid the really remote areas these days since I don't have many people interested in playing Survivor with me.

Same here.  I grew up in WV, so I think that explains it.  One of the last times I went camping, it was in a really remote area in the Appalachians with my ex-gf.  That night it was pitch black, and a pack of wolves were hanging around nearby.  We could hear 'em but couldn't see 'em.  However, we both knew that there's no way in hell we could fight a pack of wolves in the dark, so we just went to sleep and they didn't bother us.

Funny you were talking about wildlife, because I just had an encounter with a raccoon weekend before last, at my family reunion.  It was trying to raid our cookout.  I thought it was cool, but my family members didn't.  LOL

Sweet...you can trek up with paddle again next year for our canoe trip...we play Survivor by means of surviving all the booze that we consume and trying to avoid the fern nubs under the tent LOL

For myself personally, I don't think I'd be boozing it up in the wilderness. What if some scary sasquatch-type creature snuck into camp and tried to take advantage of me? I wouldn't even have the presence of mind to defend myself!! LMAO who knows, I might actually succumb to his advances.*drunk voice* Yeah baby I like hairy men!

Here's one that you will find hilarious:

I'd love to go. We'll have to play that one by ear though. Not too sure the wife would be too keen on me heading up to Canada to drink with a couple hot chicks I meet on the Internet.

Here's a pretty scary animal that I actually took a video of last week when I was fishing up north.

According to my sister-in-law that was holding her at the time, she "leapt" into the fire.
