Custom FTW!

Interested to see how they hold up to weather and vibrations.  Gonna need a 6 month follow up, roger that?

nice lil vid! r those even amber or yellow?? they dont really look like it in the vid.

also the pics r nice lil red x's for me. but i can kinda tell from the vid that u smoked the turn signals plus from what u've been talkin. i was thinkin of getting the clear corner markers in the grill and slightly smoking them. what did u use to smoke ur lens'? i dont wanna go that dark tho.

They are "white" leds, but they have a slight blueish look to them.  I guess imageshack isn't working properly right now.  To tint them I used a candy charcoal automotive paint (multiple coats till it was dark enough), and 3 coats of clear over them.

The pics might be working now.  I used Du Pont Hot Hues candy charcoal paint.  The paint/reducer/clear/activator/adhesion promoter was about $170.  Other people use a product by VHT Night Shades I believe.  Some people use model car spray paint tint, or other spray tints/stained glass colors.  I was trying to get something that would hold up well, and I hope it does for the price.

They turned out real well. Hope ya'lls cops are better than the ones we got. The ones we got around here will bust us quick for the smoke lens and not being yellow/amber light.

The law here is either white/amber on the front of the vehicle.  I checked first to see if I had to keep them amber or not.  I have the motor vehicle standards act on that printed just in case. :P

Here is an update a little early.  Bumper lights are fine since they are being ran off a PWM, so that they have dual brightness for flashing.  The corner lights are facked.  I have about 1/2-3/4 of the led''s burned out.  Some that aren''t burned out a flickering.  They were fine for a few months but now they are dying.  I am running the LED''s at about 65-70mAh which is under the 100 they said they do.  So basically they look like ish and I need to redo them, which sucks.  I will be ordering some different and hopefully higher quality leds from best hong kong and running them at even lower current.

I did have one problem from the polizia when I went through a road block.  Long story short she said blue, I said white, I got VI, I pass VI, J$ out $100.  They must have been having a slow night cause I''ve passed many cops at night before and gone through other roadblocks.

Also I bought a bunch of LED''s for my blazer.  This time I am going with lumiled''s ambers for the lights and they aren''t going to be tinted, just clear.  They should be nice and bright.  Also got some reds coming to try out a tailight and see if I can get enough in there to make them bright enough.

You running a voltage reg to them or just off of resistors? I''ve had problems in the past with just resistors but since I''ve started figuring them for 12 volts and running a 12 volt regulator it seems to have fixed the leds burning out.

Sorry to hear about the pigs screwing with y,, lasted longer than they would have here tho. Just so you know its impossible to make pure true white light LEDs so they all are either a blueish (cool white) or yellowish (warm white). The warm white is supposed to look more light a normal light bulb but ugly as all hell.

Ya I wish they made a white in between the 2.  These ones are about 8000k, I wish they had some like 5000k.  Yup I was running 9 volt regs and resistors, so both current and voltage regulation.  I guess they just can''t run what I had them at.  Now I find out that other people have had the same problem.  I guess they are just not that great.  I contacted the seller who I got them from just to let them know, but they never responded.
