Does somebody knows why American vehicles do have so many problems?

I always had german cars in the past and never had any problem.

With my Blazer I found plenty of forums talking continuosly about their unfinished problems... and I got some myself.

I'm starting to doubt about american quality in manufacturing vehicles...

Thank you for the objective explaination!

I was expecting just offensive returns on that, but I see there is still people with objective opinions not only morons considering good and nice everything is american only because they're american!

In turn all we are is a bunch of convicts. the gov rips us off more than the crack head neighbor ever will. the neighbor will get you for a hundred or two a year from breaking and entering but the gov gets us for 1000-2000 a year for living here and spending the money we have left from our checks after they take what they want.

What do you mean by 1000-2000? Are they taxes? But in that case doesn't taxes amount apply for each person on the base of their earnings?

It goes off of your pay and dependents. Then you get taxed for everything but food at most any store you enter. For example [If you build your home on land that you own you get to pay taxes on both. Plus the tax amount varies on where your land is. country tax is fine city is more and near any body of water will kill you. Also if the land had no body of water and you dig a pond/tank your taxes may go up.] my tax range is at 11.8 % on earnings. this means that if I make $8475. in a year they will get $1000 of that money. Plus the taxes on any purchase I make. Now if I buy a 12 pack of soda at 2.99 + tax {.24} each per day for a year I will be giving them another $87.60 each year. I buy at least two of these 12 packs a day plus cigs, gas, household supplies, and anything else I may want and all but cold food and a newspaper is taxed. If we take to $1000 earnings tax and add all the purchuses I make we will be around $2500 a year for me. Do you know what I could do for my truck with that kind of extra money?

If you paint a guys car for 5 hundred dollars and some guy you don't even know that never touched the car gets $60.00 of that before you ever get paid, someone is getting there ass kicked right. On top of that you can file criminal charges and sue the guy for your money and trouble.

So with this, why is it okay for the gov to do the exact same thing to us. We can't beat there ass, sue, or have them thrown in jail. Don't get me wrong, I love my country. I would just defend it better if they would stop robbing me right in front of my face.

What a ****ty situation... I couldn't even imagine that the shiny America was so messed up. But don't think other countries are in better conditions. Back here if you do a normal job you can expect that at least 2 months wage in a year is just for taxes and related stuff...

In italian they say: "Tutto il mondo รจ paese!".

Yeah that kinda sucks, I had never really thought about it like that, lol

I've always hated American cars. My Blazer is the first one I've had. I have a Toyota Supra with 300k miles on it and I feel better in it than I do my Blazer that has 86k miles on it. My friggin Blazer's fallin apart, lol.

Yep, that's not my first American car but during the years I noticed they are yes very solid but always got something broken or badly functionning. In the past I got a Bronco 4x4 (4.3Liters automatic), a Jeep Wrangler 4x4 (4.0 Liters manual transmission) and felt ok with them since I prefeer much better american jeeps and truck instead of european and japanese crap without personality.

But I still have to notice that american truck are not that technologically/mechanically ahead and keep selling new vehicles with re-used old motor/suspension parts when european and japanese are keeping innovating and getting at the pace of the future generating better vehicles daily...

That's not good and U.S. vehicles headquarters should assume these facts and get up in order to not lose an important market share and keep their products at an average standard of quality.

(sorry everybody for my english)

For the record I own a 1996 Blazer, they have issues I hear, never left me on the side of the road though. Although after 9 years I replaced:

2 Alternators, 2 Batteries, AC (under Warranty) and last weekend the water pump.

I also have a 2003 BMW 325i. Recently drove the wife to work and it felt like I was driving a sewing machine. Took it to the dealer and was told it was most likely KNOWN bad coils. They replaced them. When I asked about recalls I was told the great BMW does not issue recalls! Go figure.

The reuse of old pats is primaraly due to our gov regulations. Our gov is very stict with what a car can and can't do.

And I thought it was just my car! I have a 1995 Blazer, just under 100K miles. I've replaced 5 batteries, 2 alternators, fuel injection system, master brake cylinder, radiator, water pump, malfunctioning air bag, all four map lights, and a vanity lamp (discovered it was the cause of the battery drain--it wasn't shutting off when closed)...let's see....did I forget anything? Fortunately (if that can even be said) I purchased a bumper to bumper 6 year warrenty (for $593) that covered 90% of the issues. Right now I'm experiencing problems with the A/C. But hey, I passed my Smog Test ! woo-hoo!

the biggest thing ive learned working as a body man and a mechanic...they're all **** boxes. dosent matter what make or model, foreign or domestic. sure , blazers may have some problems mechanically, but then bmws or jags floors will rot out after 10 years. i did a state inspection on a 97 volvo recently that the front end was pretty much falling out. they're all great when they are running right, but when something happens its a P.O.S.

your going to have problems with everything you drive import or domestic. I still like domestic better than imports but thats my personal opinion. and zero is right you love it when it runs great but the slightest problem and it is a hunk of junk.
