Went snowboarding!!

Well, I've been away the whole weekend. I went to West Virginia to snowboard and snowtube at Winterplace. I did pretty good, but would have done better if they stocked boots big enough for me. I had to sqeeze into a size 14. I think I possibly broke my left wrist when I wiped out, but its nothing major, I have it in a splint and its swollen and stuff. I had a blast though! I wanted to go on a black level slope, but I got wiped out by a beginner when I went across the bunny slope headed toward the lift. By the time I got up and got to the lift, the guy told me that he wasn't letting anyone else on the lift because it was closing time.

Yeah. Typing in a splint isn't fun. Wish I had VR.
Met a Blazer owner and told him about the site.... he said he'd check in. He has a Black 2-door 2wd with a 98+ front conversion and euro tails. Looked smooth.
Anyway, If you get a chance to get out on the slopes, I highly recommend boarding over skiing. A lot more fun to me.

Yeah I'm going to need to head out Skiing right away here again. Snowmobiling would be nice as well but my sleds ripped apart in my shop right now.

Lol I take it you have never snowmobiled and don't realize that it can be quite the workout! Esspecially in the mountains.

My youngest son went snow boarding a week ago and I picked him up from the hospital later that night.
Today he went skate boarding and is still in the hospital. He has a dislocated and fractured ankle and may require surgery.
I think I must have put my parents through hell when I was younger.

Yeah I am a skiier, never tried snowboarding yet. Maybe next year I'll try it out. I love skiing, I don't something about fall on your butt and sitting down all the time doesnt seem fun to me. Since that is pretty much what I always see on the slopes.

Update: surgery tomorrow morning to have pins installed. He also tore ligaments.
Perfect timing, my daughter had her cast removed from her arm last Thursday.

I wish there was snow near by I would go snow boarding, don't do the whole skiing thing!!

I'm surprised I didn't hurt myself further. I'm 300lbs fully decked with equipment and clothes and it hurts to fall with all that weight. I'm glad I wore my lumbar brace too. When you fall going 50mph on a snowboard you tend to torque in ways you never knew you could!

Thats why I like skiing. If I fall (very rarely) my skis will pop off and I dont get mangled. And wow 50mph is very fast on a snowboard, I don't usually get above 35mph on skis (I have GPS'd this before racing down the mountain).

Idk about 50

... it was fast though. It probably was ~35ish. I got too fast and had to bend down while I was moving and unlatch my boots, which ultimately reduced my drag and center of gravity, making me go faster, I grabbed the leash and just laid down. I bet I skidded 50 yards on my butt. I was afraid if I stopped with the board on, I'd overlean my carve and get helicopter'd.

Same here Cliro. I can't wait to hit the slopes some more and get some more use out of that season pass I got.

My wrist is still messed up. I can't twist with it. Things like turning a doorknob hurt like well...HELL.
I'm in love with boarding now, I'm gonna try to go one more time before the season is over.

I'd love to go snowboarding....just don't have the time or money to go somewhere.

Aw man its a blast. It only costed me $70 for the initial trip + $30 per night hotel stay (4 people per room). They make it more affordable with a group package.

Oh geeze...I started snowboarding in 1995...there weren't any girls doing it then..spent most of my time throwing tricks in the half pipe..chasing skiers who tried to go in the half pipe...I sold my board a few years ago to my cousin..I stopped boarding when little punk kids started pulling 740's with their $750 set ups their mommies bought them...I miss the old days of going to the ski hill on a saturday meeting up with like 20 people...and terrorising the skiers! ha ha haa h!! and all for free...(I was such a naughty punk)
