Does anyone use doe urine? How does it work? I'm gonna use it for the first time this year. Does anyone use anything else? Buck Jam? Pumpkins? Corn? Apples? What do you guys find work the best?

i usually find when driving in other peoples cars with them that their cars work very well for bait haha. everyday this week riding with other people i've almost hit a deer. anyways im not a hunter but i know a lot of people who hunt deer and some of them like to use apples and some like to use urine. my guess that it's personal preference.

I never have baited. I think of it as cheating... I have used doe urine to cover my scent by using some on the bottom of my boots, but this year I'm not worrying about it. Most likely will be raining Saturday (opening day) anyway so I won't have to worry about that at all.

A lot of people will put out salt licks around their stand a month or so before opening day, then remove them a week prior. Or some spread corn or other suitable food near their stand once or twice a week for the month before.

LOL @ the night vision! I just use a 30,000 candle power spot light! with a chaingun mounted to the roof of a pickup! LMAO!!! J/K!

Yea, I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one Swart. Its all about sitting, in the woods, and waiting. Unless your bored and go running around barking like a dog and watch them run... Yea, cousin did that once. If you ever want to get a deer out of some brush, thats a great way to do it.

I don't think it will do you any good to bait this late... If you bait, you typically will want them to build up a habit for finding their food there. So when you take it away, they will continue to show up.

You may want to check you local laws. I know it is illegal to bait in my area during the season and I believe the week prior to season opening (bow season mind you - which opened a few weeks ago). So even the people that I know that bait up until this past Saturday are doing so illegally.

I don't bait, near the stand, but at home (in city limits) we feed them corn, and it really does work, the most i've counted at once was 14. Maybe I should pony up the cash pay the ATF fee and buy a silencer....

Pumpkins, they look at them, and thats about it. Apples also work really good, providing the temp is above freezing.

This late in the year you really need something with a strong scent to bait them. . . . . be careful with the corn during turkey season. . . in most states it is illegal to bait turkey and even if you have the corn out for deer you cannot shoot the turkey when they are eating it... or tyrone in cell block 6 will be your new hunting buddy...HAHAHA

anyways, this late in the year try this.... go to walmart and buy 1 gallon of molases from the sporting goods section... go to the food section and get 10lbs of sugar. . . . . . put the gallon of molases in a bucket and mix in the 10lbs of sugar.... pour the concoction out on every log and tree around where you are hunting. . . it has a rediculously strong smell. . . actually had deer run in with their heads down last year (i literally mean run) to eat the molasses. . . not paying any attention to anything else... i prolly couldve killed them with a stick... they are so into the molases its not even funny.... works very very well. . . try it, you just might be pleasantly surprised. . .

I'm likin the molasses idea, I think I may give it a go. Would that be somthing that could be used with the doe urine? NOT MIXED. But have the molasses and have some urine hanging from a tree.
