Hi I'm wondering what kind of Fuel Economy everone is getting on their Blazer. I have a 2000 2dr Blazer 4wd v6 4.3 and it has 145,000 miles on it. It gets about 240 miles to the gallon which is like 12mpg(city/hwy). So I just wanted to compare to what other people are getting.
Thank You
Nick

first time i checked it it was 16, then 20, then 18. so i guess it would be safe to say 18 mpg

LOL riddle!
Anyway, this topic comes up quite often. I don't have a problem with creating new threads every now and again on it, but please use comparable units. Miles to the tank is virtually meaningless. Some blazers have a smaller tank than others. So try to keep it to MPG or L/100km or km/L and state whether it is in US gallons or Imperial gallons.

I have a 98 4dr blazer with 136kmiles on it and get on average if I keep the foot off the gas around 18mpg city and 21-25 mpg highway (depending on if it is a 65mph or 55mph highway, meaning I do 70mph or 60mph respectively). This is in US Gallons. City turns out to be about 270miles to a 18 gallon tank and highway is about 340 miles on 18 gallon tank, for both measurements I tend to fill up with only 13 and 15 US gallons (just about a 1/4 tank left). Hope this helps.

If you are getting this bad of mileage you are either using the throttle a lot or in need of a tune up, just my thoughts. However there are a lot of things that affect gas mileage, such as excess weight in the trunk, needing a tune up, dirty air filter, heavy acceleration, lots of idling, running the A/C or heat a lot, trailering, stop and go traffic, personal driving habits, and last but not least original equipment (ie. differential and gear sizes and type of transmission, 4x4, etc)

I get 18 to 20 mpg, around 300 to 350 to a 18 gallon tank. I have a 2004 4x4 stock blazer 99,800 miles on it and almost done with all the tune up crap. I have a fairly heavy foot, usually keep her between 2500 to 3200 rpms when speeding up. Even mix of city/highway miles. I got the truck with 12,000 miles on it, and kept up on all the maintenace, mobile 1 full syn, and 93 octane the whole time ive had it.

My 04 is getting about 13 with a mix of city and highway. Needless to say, the guys at the gas station know me well.

Best I can get outta my 85 is 16mpg. Now that's alot of stop and go Dallas traffic. 2.8L V6.
It also has 240,000 miles on it so as long as it runs good I'm not going to complain till it gets down to
10 mpg down hill

The lowest I've recorded has been 12 mpg, and that was all city, lots of idling, AC on all the time. The highest I recorded was near 25 mpg, and that was all highway at speeds less than 75 mph.
I usually get around 18 mpg in mixed driving.

According to My Overhead Information Center I''m Getting an Average of 18.8 Miles Per Gallon out of the Last 250 Gallons Used. I think that gauge will go up to 999 Gallons so that will give me a more accurate Average MPG

1995 Blazer 2-door 4X4 LS package.
I usually get 290~310 for my 15 gallon tank... until the past two fill-ups. I ran 89 octane shell instead of my normal dose of 93 and I got 220 and 240 miles on the same 15 gallon tank. I was checking out what
swartlkk was mentioning in a previous post.
I drive highway 25 miles one way to work, plus running around locally.
Guess what... I''m going back to 93 octane, there`s just too much of a difference in numbers and butt hauling.
Please be aware of pump fraud too - I pulled in last week in Cool Springs to get gas with just under 1/4 tank. It said I pumped 17.3 gallons... I paid for the gas but, I told the attendant that it was physically imposs, ible to put that much gas in my vehicle because it only had a 15 gallon tank and I basically had 1/4 tank in it! She simply replied with, "Hmm..." This is the second time I''ve known this to happen. The other time was right after I got the truck, I just thought maybe it did have a bigger tank. I have never been able to put that much fuel in it again, until the other day - a year later.

hmmmm well i have to say this is disappointing!
I have a 98 LS, it has 217k miles, but I keep the air filter clean (I put a new one very often), my Air cond does not work, I really drive without heavy acceleration, I don''t have too much weight in the car, my sparkplugs are new as well as cables and batery... even son I got aprox 11 - 12 MPG

I have to say that I drive pretty much in heavy/stop and go traffic, but even so I am getting a very poor mileage!!!

I usually get around 15 town and 20 highway...if I add Lucas fuel system cleaner I can get about 2-3 mpg better than that.

I get on average 15mpg (US). I''m heavy on the pedal for the most part, and that is a mix of highway and city driving. I tend to get better gas mileage with my Shift Plus turned off since it is not want to go as high into the power band before shifting. I can get 19mpg when I am really nice to the pedal, but that does not tend to happen much. Right now I am averaging 10-11 mpg if I am lucky because I have been using the 4-wheel drive with the snow, I can''t believe how much more fuel it eats up.

94 4.3L CFI 20 gallon tank 135,000 miles, 400 miles since last tuneup and oil change just calculated it again last week 20 MPG with a city/highway mix driving 30 miles each way for work, And I don''t exactly baby the throttle although i''m not hard on it either.

my 97 gets between 20 and 25 mpg, i have a k&n air filter and tune up was done in the middle of the summer. i also have a k&n oil filter and castrol syntec blend in the engine. mine will get up and go in a flash, but when i do the fuel will suffer. but lately it has been acting up so there is no telling what it is doing now.
