What not to do when installing an amp in your car or truck

yes folks, this guy grounded his amplifier to the jack in his car. 

Wow.  Is that a customer's car?

Not one of my customers. but it is a legit picture.  I have seen some pretty funny stuff in peoples car.  I had a guy that drilled a whole in the body and the ground wire for his amp was draggin underneath the car on the "ground"

Yeah, I get to see some funny stuff installing home theaters myself.  One of the best was back when I used to install cable.  Was in an illegal basement apartment with a bunch of mexican guys that didn't speak english.  They rigged a line from one room to across the apartment.  It was hanging off the ceiling, and didn't have any fittings, just the line was stripped back, and the solid copper lines were twisted with duct tape holding them together.

Hill Billy i got one better. This guy came in an had his remote wire hooked up to his dome light. 

Oh my god, that instantly made my brain hurt. How do you do that? I....how.....what....I give up

....wtf lol.  i dont think ive ever seen anything like that before.

I wonder what else he had McGyvered in his car.  That is just too funny. 

I can't think of any reason to do that... I mean, who'd want to change tires with no music? lol

Stuff like this really makes me think that there needs to be chlorine in some people's gene pool. Just how....never mind.
 
And to the dome light?!?!?! How is that a rational thought?

Dude i've been asking myself the same thing. Everyone at the shop was baffled on why someone would do that. Then we found his piece in the back seat and it was all clear.
