Whats the next step

My fuel pump went out about 2 months ago so I went ahead and changed the pump along with putting in a new fuel filter. It started up and ran after that but every time I went to start it there was a rough 5-7 second start. So I took the next logical step and changed the fuel pressure regulator, but there is still a rough start every time as well as a fresh gas smell every now and then. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated sensores,fuses, leaks,ect..
