Unable to find the thermostat on 2000 Blazer- is it at the block or elsewhere?

It is on top of the block, if you are facing the engine its more to the left. It is inside a kind of curved 9 or 10 inch pipe. Its not hard to see, but I've looked over it trying to find it a few times. I will try and post a pic for ya soon.
