Im going next week to Vancouver Island Next week for a nice 2 months,so I want to see who's out west.Maybe meet some members from here and can show me trails or areas to stay away from(IE) Crack heads LOL
The reason I put Ont is thats where I live now so I wanted to see how many people might be around me
I was told not to drive at night because of the moose and dear, but I just don't know.I hope to be in town in 3 three days or less,Flordia can be done in 3 days from here.

Yup I'm on the island. Don't wheel, so don't know any trails.

I think the flag on my avitar kinda gives it away that I'm Canadian. I'm in Vancouver, not the Island.
I'm actually headed to Parksville on Vancouver Island in an hour but just for the day.
Where on the island are you going?

I'm in Ontario....Oshawa, if you are close.
**EDIT - I just saw you are in Port Hope...not far at all. I can tell you all about trails around us, but you probably already know about them, too

I can't see you getting stabbed or shot at. I haven't ever encountered moose around here. Deer yes, but not too big of a problem. Never heard of anyone not driving because of it.

I actually won't be here next week. My son and I are going fishing farther north for a week.
I love driving at night 'cause there's less traffic. Keep your eyes open thru the mountain passes for shiny little eyes that could be a moose or a deer crossing the road. There are a few cases of people hitting animals, but they're usually driving faster than is safe.
Where on the island are you going?
Most of the "crack heads" and drug addicts are downtown Vancouver on Hastings street. I've never had a problem with them, they are usually only violent with each other and never bother the "normal" people, except to try to con you out of money. I don't bug them and they don't bug me.

Anyone who says "Don't drive because of wildlife" Shouldn't be driving because of other vehicles... You're more likely to get hit by a human than a deer, lol, check your insurance... The only expect people to hit animals like once every 5 or 10 years.
If you're paying attention (as you should be) You'll never have a problem with wildlife... Slap some deer whistles on your rig, and make sure to stay withing their designed speed range, if you're that worried about it...
If you're really really worried about it, take your muffler off, lol, when I had my Lumina Z34 straight piped, I never saw wildlife ANYWHERE! Not even cats and dogs around town...
But yeah, Not something to really worry about...
You'll occaisionally see some moose, deer, the odd bear running across the road... the usual, lol.

I'm in SK. When I was driving to work last winter I almost hit 2 deer and a rabbit in the same week! I'd feel worse for the animal than my truck.......
just make sure your paying attention and dont go too fast at night......
