What percentages do some of you have? I know the factory tints on the back are good at night, but I want something dark, and legal..
I know the fronts can't be that dark, but the back can be really dark. Trucks look great with tints, so I think that's what I'm missing.

I have 35% on the front. It's dark enough for me, since i have a black truck, and a dark interior... it actually looks much darker than 35%

My rears are dark, but I just read up NY has the most strict tint laws in the nation, apparently. The law is 70%

im not sure where you are located, each state has different laws some states dont have any laws against it, i have 15% on my blazer, depends on what you want, anything 20% and lower will start making it a little more difficult to see at night

I'm in NY, and they say 70% if the highest, which is ridiculous because that's like no tint at all.
My factory on my back windows are so dark all you see is your reflection, but the front windows are barely tinted.

well i know that he has his two front windows tinited to the point where u can see movment sometimes, but cant see the actual person not sure ho wmuch that is, every time u look at it it looks like its a really reflective mirror and refecltion is prevents you from seeing through

This is what I refer to on tint issues
http://www.tintlaws.com/ Hopefully this is up to date.
Tinting laws vary from state to state. Many states, including here in Colorado, don't care what you do to the back windows as long as the cops can see through the front/back windshieds and/or the front windows. I'm guessing that's why the factory tint is the way it is. Through my experience in other states, cops seem to be more lenient in the West states and more strict in the East states, especially NY. A moderator from another forum said the cops over there have special tools now that can measure the amount of light your tint allows to see if it is illegal or not.
To
Tippman7641, I suggest heading to
www.streetglow.com and go to the forums on that site. They have, or at least try to have, all the current neon laws for all 50 states.

Here in NY, the local cops are kinda easy going, but the highway patrol love to break your balls. They're the meaner guys whos guy wanna screw around with you. I've seen a tool that you put against the window and it measures the percentage of tint.
But Mr Blazer LT, I saw that list of states and their laws, and it is up to date.
In NY, the back window can be any, but all sides have to be 70% which is stupid because my backs are very dark compared to my fronts, and the windshield can have a 6" visor tint.
