winter

I know it''s a little early but what kind of mantinence should I do to the blazer to get it ready for the winter, besides getting oil changed every 3k? Yesterday i changed the oil and the rear end gear lube and that stuff looked like chocolate milk. I''m planing on new tires before it snows, get no traction when it rains. What else should I be doing so I don''t have any break downs and I''m freezing on the side of the road?

Which looked like chocolate milk, the engine oil or gear oil?

Get your battery and alt tested.  Also make sure all your front end parts are greased up.  Don''t rely on the quick-lubes to do that despite what they''re price break down shows..

Check all your fluids too.  

how hard is it to replace an alt? Got mine tested they said it was running at like 70 when it should be running at 100 cant remember exactly what they said. They just told me it would be a good idea to get it replaced before winter. Also my batt. also.

diff fluid looked like chocolate milk, it was pretty bad. i''ll get my alt and bat tested to make sure thats in working order. i was also thinking about changing the tranny fluidm looks to be a little brown from the dip stick.

if you''ve got brown tranny fluid...you''ve got some more serious issues to consider. A flush might polish off what''s left of the tranny''s life..

its not totally brown but its a little darker than new tranny fluid
