so... okay... i know this has been explained to me several times.... but heres the thing...... this is the info on my amp....
» 2-channel car amplifier
» 125 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (250 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms)
» 500 watts RMS in bridged mode at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)
my subs are Kicker CVR DVC 2ohm
the wiring suggested by y'all is this....

but this gives a 2 ohm load...... my amp is only stable at 4 ohms in bridged mode..... so..... what does that mean...lol can I wire them like the diagram or do I need to put one on each channel?

the way it looks to me, your going to need a different amp to accomadate what your trying to do. because if you wire each sub up to 4 ohms and put each on a channel that will only give you 125 to each. your best bet would be to take your subs back where every you got them and get 2 dual 4 ohm subs or get a mono amp that does 500 watts at 2 ohms...sorry i couldn't be any more help, you may have other options with that setup but none come to mind...if i'm wrong someone please correct me as i would hate to give him wrong info..

can't take them back.... ordered them from crutchfield.... and wouldnt I be pushing 250 to each woofer??? bual channels at 2 ohms = 250 per channel according to the amp info..................... I was advised by several people on here and at a car stereo shop ot get the 2ohm subs..... whats wrong with wiring the subs one per channel? I want it wired at 2 ohms not 4.... so why can't I just plug one 2ohm sub into each channel?? wont that run the 2 ohm sub at 2 ohms????

bridge mono ftw

Thats all the info im willing to give tonight.

My efforts arent appreciated here so yea.

But jsut bridge it mono dude

but my amp is only stable mono for 4 ohms... wil it hurt anything to bridge it mono for 2 ohms?? i cant afford to tear up my amp

wire it up to 4 ohms

NO.

A SINGLE dual 2 ohm sub can be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. you cannot produce a 2 ohm load off 1 dual 2 ohm sub, so no you cant wire each sub to 2 ohms seperately, it just will not work. If you had two dual 4 ohm subs you would be good to go because you could wire each of them to 8 ohms then bridge them together to produce a "bridged" 4 ohm load, or you could wire them each to 2 ohms and run one to each channel, my advice get a different amp cuz it's just not going to work..trust me.

i dont want a new amp..... and i dont understand how to rewire it....... i saw a wiring thing on a fosgate forum for crossing over the channels.....like

sub sub
| X |
Amplifier

would that do it???

why was it not reccomended that I buy 4 ohm subs in the first place??? lol

oh well, the amp owners manual shows to wire a minimum 2ohm sub to each channel... no fancy SH*T...... so ill just go with that and blow somthin up i guess...

please just tell me how it will work.... i just want it to sound good......... I just wish I hadnt been advised to get the 2 ohm subs..

just tell me how you would wire it.... 2 KIcker CVR DVC 2ohm... and the Fosgate P5002 amp.... if u had it in ur truck how would you do it.... i'll just do it that way,....

ugh Look hold on. I'm doing a step by step wiring for the 4 ohm that you posted.

It will give it an 8 ohm load. When you posted what you were runing aaron we all were under the assumption you had a 1 ohm stable amplifier. But we'll get ya bridged mono and bumping good man.

Bear with me drawing this out now

Here's what you do.
1. Wire each sub's voice coils in series to a 4 ohm load. Then wire each sub to one channel.
Edit: *or*
2. Wire each sub's voice coils in series to a 4 ohm load, then wire both subs in parralel to a 2 ohm load. Like the diagram you have in the first post. Then you hook that up to the amp "bridged". Now this will present a 2 ohm load on the amp which it will either work or it won't. If you hook it up this way be carefull with the gain. If your lucky and the amp really can't handle the 2 ohm load bridged, the amp's fuse's will blow. If they don't blow and the amp can't handle it will blow.

thanks man.... its been pretty stressful here... got a soc 461 paper due, and history 467 paper due and on top of that I just found out my aunt died in a car wreck and my uncle is in ICU(they were hit head on by someone who crossed the double yellow on a curvy road)... so i prolly wont have much time to wire them up. . . maybe we need a stress-relief forum..lol
