Alright heres the setup

First we will connect the first voice coil to the amp as shown.

Then connect the +'s and -'s on the subs to each other on the other coils. (this will in turn raise our ohm load)

Finally we will connect the + and - on the other coil together which will raise the ohm load up once more

And I'm so sorry to hear about that dude. Really I am. This girl i like he best friend was killed by a tractor trailer crossing the yellow line. It's not a good thing at all.

its alright... it just sucks... at the beginning of the summer my buddy died in his sleep, then my papaw died, then a girl I work with was killed by a tractor trailer in tennessee, then this... bad year for me... but anyways.... that oughtta sound better than my fosgate subs?? lol i will do that, I just have to drill a hole between the two sides of my box(there is a divider in the center so each sub has its own compartment) so I can run the wires between subs...

Yea I know it seems bad bro. but trust me things get better. I've learned this fast recently. It cant be bad forever man.

These are more efficient then the rockfords so yes it'll be better. not for the wires running between.

Drill a hole and run the wires through. THEN silicone the hole shut. make sure it drys and all

No problem what so ever aaron. It's what I'm here for and if ya ever need to talk about anything PM me or hit my AIM.

I'm here to help. I've helped alot of people with my Dr. Phil logics on this forum that you dont see lol

thanks... just one more quick question... would the subs perform any different (better) if i somehow exchanged them for 4ohm subs?? if so, crutchfield will let me exchange them within 30 days with free shipping....

the wattage will be alittle better if you were too. See we were under the impression you would run it at 2 ohms when ya got em lol.

I mean it's up to you really.

will it make enough difference to go through the trouble of shipping them back? i mean if its not gonna be much difference then im not gonna fool with it. .

It's tough to say. you will get more power output at 4 ohms cause less resistance ya know. companies dont usually say what the amp puts at 8 ohms so its hard to tell really.

This all goes back to the water in the hose thing for the resistance in wiring ya know. less resistance more flow so yes you will get more power out of the 4 ohm BUT is that little power gain worth sending em back and all

hmm.... well, if it will make a difference in sound quality i will send them back... i probably will call crutchfield and send them back tomorrow for an exchange on the 4ohm woofers... i mean its free of charge. . . . and I want the best sound and most power.... itll just set me back about a week.....

Sorry for the misunderstanding dude. lol i feel bad bout it and all now

so, now that I know the wiring..lol Which setup will give me the best performance? wire the subs at 4ohms on 2 channels, or bridge them at 8 ohms? i may just keep them... I could't imagine that with a small setup like I have, there would be much if any difference in sound between the 4 and 2 ohm subs, so I think i'll just keep them..

I'd do the 4 ohm's on 2 channel's

im reading the owners manual for the subs.... it says not to run them on more than 300 watts continuous power.... if I wire them at 4ohs on 2 channels I will have between 125 and 200 watts going to each sub continuously.... so I think that will be my best bet and give me the best sound quality... thanks so much for your help guys, i'm getting ready to go install em..... pics coming soon............

also.... this spring I will be asking one of you to help me design a rectangular port enclosure for my system..... I have only designed and built sealed boxes.... the rectangular port is relatively new to me......... it is reccomended for the comp vr to have extremely deep competition bass....lol but that wont be till april or somethin....

BTW... whats this I read about filling a sealed box 50% with polyfill?

Sealed boxes with poly fill basically tricks the sub into thinking theres more air then there really is.

As for them not recommending more that 300.

yea Um we all run WAY over what is recomended lol.

My friend has 1000 watts to 1 type R lol. You'd def be fine running more than 300

yeah i would put about 500 watts of clean power to each of them. i was running the cvr 15's daily and at competition, and there rated at 500wrms and i was giving them roughly 650 each daily. I went to my buddys house one time and hooked his t2001bd up to them(2000wrms@1ohm) @1ohm to see what they would do and i burped a 148.2 but it was a QUICK burp not nothing i would put on em for daily but...what i'm trying to say is kicker subs will take a beating lol

shoot yeah they will. those L7's that i had took a good pounding. i was rough on'em and they just kept on smilin' at me. until i cranked it up and they hit 154.3 before they popped, haha.

Hey XBlazer01 i was wondering if you could do that same diagram thing that you did with him for me cause i am finally gonna be hooking up my Sidewinders and i wanna make sure that i am doing it right.

That wiring that i LAST posted was for 8 ohms. And those were for 2 ohm woofers. if u want i can do a step by step of 4 ohm woofers for ya

Ya i would like that if you wouldnt mind and i think i am gonna wire it down to 1 ohm but i might still put it at 2 ohm for right now since i havent ran them at all yet so idk if i wanna put 800 watts to them yet....? Also how do you know it it is a 4 ohm woofer or 2 ohm?

i can answer taht for him. it should say it on the backside of the cone or on the magnet. and i can do the diagram for you if you want.

well, should I put the poly fill in or not? the owners manual recomends it........... as for running abotu 500watts to each... loud_blazer, please buy me an amp so I can do this..... im definitely not going over the reccomended wattage because I don't want to void my warranty... plus im not exactly trying to win a competition here...lol anyways... looks like im not gonna get to it till tomorrow morning.... ill post some pics... later guys

98blackblazer ur woofers are Dual 4 ohm - I'll get that diagram up by tomorrow. I'll do it overnight while i cant sleep again lol

Aaron. Go for it. Wouldnt hurt it at all.

wait now. if you're running a ported box, polyfill is the debil. if you have a sealed box, polyfill is awesome.
