1990 K-5 4wd with a rear window that wont go up.  I have replaced the motor in the tailgate, and when I push the switch the window will sound like it goes down but not up.  I was told that the dash switch should be replaced.  Does anyone have any experience in this area?  Thanks!

If you hotwire the motor, will it go up then?

You may have a faulty switch in the rear panel. If you open the tailgate and remove the latches there should be a switch on each side. These switches (if I recall correctly) are supposed to prevent the window from going up if the latch is open. You should be able to jumper the connectors to bypass the switch as a test to see if the window will now go up.
You can do this with the tailgate open.

I don't know for sure, but I have a hunch....
