I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 2 door, and my left speaker is out.

Before I tear the door panel off, a few questions: what size are the door speakers? 6 1/2 "? or 5 1/4"

I found a web site that describes how to take the door panel off, but I'm not looking forward to it. Maybe a door panel fastener tool is necessary, so I don't bust off the fasteners?

And those window crank retainer clips - how hard are they to remove? I don't want to mess anything up. And that plastic rain sheet inside...I don't to mess that up, either, and let rain into the door.

And while we're at it, has anyone had any bad experiences with car stereo installation places, like Car Toys in the Seattle area? Are they a ripoff? Or a trustworthy installation center?

I'd put more speakers in this vehicle, but I can't imagine it would be easy to run speaker wires within the dash.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply - here's the location of that door panel removal site:

Yes, I had to pay $4.95 to explain to me how to remove the door panel.

Thanks, but they don't have 03 door panel removal. I wouldn't have paid the money anyway. I'm getting some alpines for x-mas.

OK, now does anyone know exactly what size speaker goes in the dash, that faces UP at the windshield?

I would imagine that if no speakers were installed at the factory in the dash or in the rear passenger (the side) that the wiring for these potential speakers are not installed, as well?

I'd hate to think about wiring either the dash or the rear speakers.

Thanks!
