It's all becoming clear now. thanks for all the input guys, i really appreciate it, and i'm sure whoever originally asked this question is pretty pepped up too. I think i'm still gonna go with the dunlops, because i like the price better, and swart said he likes them a lot. So, just to make sure, I need 235/75RR15. i think that's right. (I have the 7in alloy wheels.)

The factory wheels and tires on most Blazers are the 15x7" wheels with 235/75R15 tires. Some come with smaller tires, however the 235's will fit.

Dunlop does not make a stock size (235/70R15) in their radial rover a/t. You will have to go with a 75 series tire, 235/75R15 to be exact. This tire is larger tire and will mean that your speedo will be off by 3.3%. So when your speedo says you are going 60mph, you'll actually be travelling ~62mph (80mph on the speedo = ~83mph). So if you are used to running the ragged edge of getting pulled over or not getting pulled over (like I am), it may take some getting used to... Generally speaking, US automakers have about a +/- 5% error (as compared with actual ground speed) in their speedos anyway... So you could be reducing it to say a -2% or you could be increasing it to a +8%. At 8% over, you're looking at almost a good 5mph over speedo at 60mph and close to 7mph over speedo at 80mph. All things to consider.
*The +/-5% speedo error was what I remembered about an article I had read quite some time ago. Things may have changed since then so don't hold me to that.

My door says 235/70R15. 75's will fit, but the speedo will be off.
Just for kicks, I put a 2000 Blazer into Tirerack and it came back with a stock size of 235/70R15, but an optional size of 235/75R15... hmm...

You are one smart dude. I can tell you're a good guy, because you know you're not getting anything out of helping me. I do dance on the edge of a speeding ticket all the time. I do five over like it's no big deal, because, one, when i was learning, my dad said it was ok (which was sweet) and you don't get any points for five over, which is what really hurts, besides, i got a good job, i don't care if i get a small ticket, it builds character. Cops in my area are generally pretty leaniant, so i don't think they would have a problem writing me up for five over, even if i'm doing ten, especially with bigger tires, but you never know. thanks again.

Do any of you put any extra weight in the back of your truck to help with the traction? I used to put about 200# of sand bags in the back of my 2x2 pick-up truck to help get through the snow.
I might put some in my blazer. So far my Yoko's don't seem to handle the snow very well and I don't want to shell out any cash on new tires just yet..

If you're going to put extra weight, put it behind the front seats! With a 4x2, you want the extra weight more so over the rear axle, but in a 4x4, you want it even over both or more weight on the front axle. The more weight you have on the front axle, the better you'll steer. If you can get it moving, you still need to manuever.

That's what I was gonna say 
I only put stuff in the trunk of my Volvo (RWD). I've never thought of doing it in the Blazer.

I need to do something (but probably won't), because when i'm in the snow with the stock laredos (pos) with 26000 on them, it's like i got slicks on the back of that thing. Extremely fun, but obnoxious when i'm trying to get somewhere.

My 1993 Blazer calls for P235/75R15, according to the coor label, and my 1995 Blazer calls for P235/70R15. A whopping 1 inch shorter tire. I just replaced a like new set of generic brands on the 95 with a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T P235/75R15 tires. In the recent snow we just had, they get along great. I had to put it through a ditch (intentionally) at an angle to get it to spin in two wheel drive just to play with the four wheel drive.
While I like my new tires, and they are fairly close in width to the old 235/70's, they look narrower since they are taller, but the added side wall looks much better IMHO.
