nope, the GFs parents gave it to us. It was either that or give it to good will. It needs a serious engine tune up and a new paint job. New headliner and carpet wouldnt hurt. I'll play with it and have my fun until its time to move then I will sell it.

$5 actually. I wanted 8 of them but only got 4. The focals up front will be the expensive part. those were $500 on sale - heavily discounted too.

I wanted to pick up like 25 of those subs lol.

someone on ROE bought up like a TON.

so ive decided to get the amp in the link below to power everything in my car (pertaining to audio). 2 channels will be used for the speakers mounted in the kicks and the remaining 2 channels will be bridged at 4ohm for the 4 8" subs. The amp itself since it is 25" long, will be mounted to the rear hatch door in a flush "enclosure". A single run of 4ga wire will power the amp and a combo of 2con and 4con will be used for the subs/speakers. I will be making my own RCAs from shieled home speaker wire which has 3 pairs of wire - perfect for front, rear, and sub channels. Ofcourse I will only be using front and sub, but oh well.

Great choice on the cadence... they're BBBBIIIIIIIIGGGG though!  What do you mean it will be mounted to the rear hatch in a flush enclosure?  Please elaborate.

meaning I will take the existing panel off of the rear hatch (the door part, not the window) and make my own which will house the amp - custom fiberglass ofcourse possibly ABS plastic too.

Sounds interesting... you will have to leave slack in all the wires for when the door is opened right?

I like how the 8's are gonna work out.  Might have to keep that in mind when I have to downgrade one day.

Here is the enclosure as it stands right now. A couple layers of glass and a LOT of sanding to go.

Are you gonna paint it???  IMHO its too much prep work.  Unless its a show vehicle i would just use some carpet, but hey thats your choice...

not sure yet. Im leaning towards carpet right now. But I want to try painting eventually since I have a nice air compressor now and a few paint guns.
