have a 1999 blazer 4 door 4x4.  I had to get new tires and when they went to do the alignment they said the pitman arm was bad so they couldnt do the balanceing.  How hard of a job or how expensive is it to do.

Thanks

The pitman arm would have nothing to do with the balancing of the tires...  But they wouldn't have been able to do the alignment with the pitman arm going...

You will need a pitman arm puller as well as a pickle fork for disconnecting the pitman arm from the steering linkage.  Then it is just a matter of removing the pitman arm and installing the replacement.  You will want to mark the alignment of the old pitman arm on the splined shaft on the steering gear box for reference when you put the new pitman arm on.
