I'd imagine it would have  some effect... It's restricting rotational movement of the wheels...

Might as well check them, though I think it'd have to be pretty bad for it to slow you down significantly...

It could be your front diff isn't disengaging...

I just ordered 2 front hub bearings and the reason I asked because one of them is getting bad.
