ok so im looking into buying a 2 door blazer, 2000 or newer with under 100,000 i was just wondering what i should be expecting to pay, i know i've seen them anywhere from 5900 to 8000. i was also wondering if anyone had any problems with the 4x4 or transmission, or anything else i should watch out for, i know every car has their flaws. im just trying to do some research before i go get a loan and insurance, ALSO, i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with dual exhaust and the vortec 4.3, how does it sound? im hoping throaty and ballsy, lol. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!! eddie

To get a valuation go to either kbb.com or edmunds.com and input the info to get the pricing figures. About the exhaust - there are many threads here concerning it, but my short advice is, forget the dual pipe idea for these engines. They are not designed for it and there's no performance advantage. Get a good single pipe catback system if you want a different exhaust sound and a little more oomph.

Keep the factory cat unless it's plugged up, it's good as any. I don't have headers, just factory exhaust manifolds, so can't help there.

i dont know mush about headers but i agree with rridle about the duals. i was originally gonna go with duals but its pretty difficult and you have to relocate your spare tire inside or on the roof or something. i got a magnaflow high flow cat on mine and it definately adds to the growl. although, my air intake, and muffler add to the growl also... if you click on the magnaflow in my signature, it will link you to a video clip of mine...

If you get 4x4 expect to replace your motor mounts. I've had many problems with motormounts running 4lo when my motor was stock. Now thats its beefed up i had to get some heavy duty ones whiched fixed my problem.

Wow mine is 4x4 and didn't have any problems with motor mounts.. But now I probably just jinxed myself. Also if its 4x4 expect to replace the Balljoints. Just get a set from Moog or Powerperformance, they last alot longer than factory balljoints. Doesn't hurt to check the idler arm and pitman are as well since most people forget to service them.

when buying just make sure you inspect the whole thing test drive it before you buy and if the seller presure washed under the hood ask them if there was anybuildup around the intake manifold i didn't ask then 3 weeks later my intake manifold gaskets went out on it. good luck to you

Another run on sentence.......anyway I doubt that your gaskets went out due to someone washing under the hood every once in a while to keep it clean.

what i was explaining is, that if you look under the hood, and there is buildup around the intake manifold gaskets that means, that there going to go, never said anything about pressure washing causing them to go out, just that it hides the buildup by removing it so you don't know.

Hmm I see punctuation now, but it still makes no sense. It is sort of like you are out of breath typing! LOL! Gunk around your manifold does not mean your gaskets are blown. It means you don't wash under the hood enough, and build up happens no mater what over time if you don't keep it clean.

but yet, you fail to realize that, one you are right with what you say, two im right, because the one of the signs of your intake manifold going out, is buildup.

I think it depends on WHAT is building up on it, doesn't it?

yes drperry, it does depend on what is building up. To clarify on what buildsup, if its orangish its dex cool, which is the sign of the intake manifold gasket going out. Anything else would be like dirt or grime possibly oil from the valve covers.

Finally, punctuation and clarification on what the hell you were trying to get at. You failed to realize that every reply I have seen you make all night has been totally vague. So, from now on, to keep from confusing everyone, use punctuation and be more descriptive in the point you are trying to convey.
