I drove a couple of those when they were new. Very impressive power and handling.
I'm saving my $55K for Blazer restorations though.

I don't think it's worth 55K, but it definitely wouldn't be worth as much if it were driven.  But I definitely agree, LAY DOWN SOME RUBBER!!!

A great example of a potent engine dropped into a butt-ugly car! No offense to anybody who owns a GM from this time period, but I think it was a low point in GM styling. Where did they get the notion that all angles on a car, inside and out, had to be either 90 degrees or 45 degrees? This is why the Ford Taurus was such a head-turner when it was released (no, I didn't really care for them, but they were at least a radical departure).

I can see all of you guys think this car is ugly, but this is actually one of my most favorite cars of all time. My grandpa owns one and I grew up riding in it on Sunday afternoons, you may think it is ugly, but it is an incredible machine! Wish I had $55k to blow on this car, I'd drop it in a second.

I can sort of justify paying 55 grand as it is a rare GNX model with very very low miles and has seen the light of day probably 10 times in the last 20 years.  Still, you can get a much, much faster car with that dough.  This is for those Jay Leno collector guys who has acres of cars and acres of money.

Agreed. One of my favorite movie quotes would be great here, altered of course: I could by a faster car of course, but then I would just be a self indulgent weiner. If I was to buy a very rare Grand National that has seen the light of day maybe ten times in twenty years I wouldn't be a self indulgent weiner would I? Why no! I would be a connoisseur!

I don't care to much for the car but the motor would drop right in and bolt right up to my 85. I'm sure it would run really really fast!
