Michelins are even better than BFgoodrich at producing a good ride quality.

Your stability will also have a lot to do with what kind of tires you have. My BFGs fell really sticky as compared to my Goodyears I had. The GYs liked to sway.

I had Kelly Springfields on the 89. I'm not sure what I have on the 94. I know they are old.

i have bfg long trails.  it wasnt that it felt real unstable, it was just a combination of lots of things that made it feel unsafe.

BigGreenMonster:  Thats why. I took a set of kellys off the '95 workvan and they have a thinner, more flexible sidewall, and a softer tread core than the Michelins I put back on. I didn't have to add any weight to the Michelis either :)
Same deal with the Jetzons on the 2004 Silverado workbody. Didn't notice much of a sidewall softness with the Firestones I took off the 2005 Express.  Still gotta replace the crappy Jetzons on the Sonoma with some Michelins soon too.
Oh yeah... forgot to mention I pretty much do all the tire and scheduled service work on the Evans Htg and A/C fleet.

Hmm   I have Long Trails too... they are great. No instability at all.

Good thing I got an old blazer, no airbag to ruin my day. I totaled 2 s-10 trucks running over old ladys and my air bag never went off. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. My glasses aren't made of glass though, guess I should say I wear a pair of plastics huh?
