No those pics always been there.. no edit. Anything higher than 8k isnt worth it.... 5 or 6k you'll be fine.

Anything higher than 6k or 8k is for show, really... 4300k is the brightest, and whitest light. I'm running 6000k, because I wanted a hint of blue, but not too much that my eyes will go wonky after 4 hours of driving... I just got some nice little projector foglights... I might stick some 3200k in there... we'll see...

I have 8000K, yes they have a blue tint but I have any issues when driving. Actually when driving I dont notice the hint of blue unless i'm really close to someones car or when I'm outside my truck..... Other than that I love my HID's and really it's personal preference to all on which set to purchase..

You also notice a lot more blue when there's lots of snow on the road, lol. I know I catch more blue with these right now...

i ordered them late wednesday night and they came in today. i guess thats what $55 dollars in shipping gets you. ($18 HIDs with $55 shipping) the wires have a fuse built into them so i may not need a secondary wiring relay. ill just wait and see. im gonna wait to install them later tonight that way i can take pics comparing the two.

all i have to say is WOW. i mean, everything ive heard about HIDs is that they are bright... but... wow. they are insane. the pics dont do justice to reality. when you first turn the lights on, they are real dim but after about 15 seconds they are plenty bright and then after about a minute, they are uber-blinding. there is a very very very slight blue to them but that may be b/c all my xmas lights are on and they are quite orange compared to these. the last 3 pics i accidentally had the flash on passenger side with the HID both with HIDs HIDs and fogs factory high-beams... WEAK!

ORIGINAL: ltown21 man this thread really makes me want to get some of these! they are definately worth it. its unbelievable how much light they put out compared to regular halogens there are a few different sellers on ebay selling them for ~$70-80 and if they really do last 3000+ hours like some people say, then they will definately save you money in the long run

im not sure what bulbs a 96 uses. sylvania has an online replacement guide that tells you which bulbs you need. for 96 blazer, it lists two options. sealed beam, and replaceable halogen capsules... if you know the bulb number you need, you can get them on ebay. they are available virtually in whatever size you need and in any color temp from 3000k to 30,000k the ones i bought fit into the stock housing. the base looks exactly like a 9006 halogen bulb but they are a little longer but they fit fine

Hi. I just had a set of Osram 4100k HIDs installed in my 99 Blazer this week. They came out of a wrecked s2000 and work beautifully. After a couple hundred hours they'll be more like 43/4400k. They emit a pure white light and look bada$$ if you ask me. Just be sure that the headlights are properly re-installed afterwards or you'll be blinding oncoming traffic.

those of you that have HID's, where did you put the ballasts at? mine are jsut laying in the engine compartment b/c i havent mounted them anywhere yet. the passengers sides is just laying b/w the battery and the horn and the drivers side is kinda just sitting near the air filter. theres plenty of space to mount one on the drivers side but i had a hard time looking for an open spot on the passenger side. also, when i turn them on, they flash real bright and then get dim and then slowly get bright again. is that normal? my brothers do the same thing but do all of them do that

I have a relay kit installed with mine so I don't have that problem.
