if i cranked the t bar so i got 1 inch of lift would 30x9.5 ties still be the biggest for a stock 96 blazer 2wd? i heard of problems with your suspension if u crank the t bar. what things would u half to do to not wear out the front suspension? thanks

hahahaha!! What t-bars are you cranking??  I don't think you got any lift out of it whatever you cranked!

I wish the 2wds had t-bar suspensions. I could lower it without springs.

Brent, he was asking if he were to do that, not that he has already. Sounded like ya might have got that confused. Anyways on a factory 2wd blazer you should be able to get 30x9.5 r15's on there with no rubbing on the stock suspension. If you want a little bigger tires or just more clearance, fabtech makes a lift spindle that i believe replaces the front knuckles and gets you about 2-3" of lift.

Sorry, I'm a dumb ***!! Overlooked the "if". So easy to do when you don't have your reading glasses on.

The t-bar connects to the bottom control arm follow it back to where you will see 2 bolts on the end of the bar. Loosen the back nut and then loosen the inside bolt to create lift in the front. Your going to want to have the front jacked up the do this!!

Actually from what I have heard you need to tighten them to get more lift. I don't have personal experience in this area but had been looking at doing it for a while and did quite a bit of research and talking with folks that did. Just send RCars2 or Jigg a pm and they will confirm this, unless they want to post up here.

A simple search using the search function on the forum should lead you to many discussions on this topic and should help answer all your questions. If you still have questions after doing some research then post up your specific questions. Right now just today there are 3 threads going on about cranking the torsion bars. Just giving you some advice, so we don't all have to repost the same info over and over again.

yeah, you definately dont want to loosen the bolts. tightening them will lift you.

just a tip:  use the longest socket wrench you can find, and if you have one, use a non-racheting wrench. the bolts can be pretty snug

anyone else have to stop and think what day it is when they wake up and check their email and find yet another ''what size tires on a stock 4dr?!" or "cranking the torsion bars?!" thread from the forum subscriptions?

blows my mind every morning...

i tightened the bolts and got about an inch lift for the front. it helped out so much. also, i used an impact socket and a breaker bar and the bolts tightened up with ease. i might lift it a little more tomorrow to get more clearance. thanks again

glad it worked out for you.

understand that this creates premature wear on the suspension and it would be a good idea to have an alignment done so you dont wear out those 31's unevenly
