Ok, some random searching on e-bay (for hoods actually, lol) and I came across this: clicky. Now, it just doesn't seem to make sence to me. They are claiming that if you put these "strong magnets" on your fuel line it increases gas mailage and horsepower... right. Anyone wanna explain this to me?

Its a gimmick, doesnt work, never will. I think there was a thread about this a couple months back and i think kyle definatively tore apart the false logic they were using.

I never did really get into how or why this product doesn't work, but you should be aware of one of the never mentioned side effects of even attempting to use this product.  The magnets can and often will disrupt the sensor readings from various sensors in proximity to the magnets.

With that said, if GM (or any other manufacturer) thought that products like this would truely produce the results they claim (or even half of claimed results), these products would already be on your vehicle now.  No auto manufacturer can afford to ignore a new fuel saving product that would reduce its CAFE (corporate average fuel economy) across the board.

turbomag ebay site:

Q. If Turbomag is so good, why don’t all the automobile manufacturers put it on new cars?
A. Probably for the same reason that the auto makers don’t make vehicles that exceed minimum government standards for fuel mileage and emissions.

what a stupid answer

Mythbusters is the best show in the world , cause they busted that magnet saver crap , and the "300mpg super carb" and the "hydrogen gas maker addon", and something else too but the ONLY thing that saves you money on gas is on Deisels use Used cooking vegetable oil on a deisel instead of the gas and it ACTUALLY really worked , didnt get as good mpg BUT considering its FREE it was 1000x better to use the used oil then to buy the fuel at the pumps lol

Well that was a popular item, I see it sold to the highest bidder at 1 cent.

The best fuel saver I've ever seen was on a small island in the south pacific. Everyone shuts off their engines when they get to the top of a hill and they coast down, only restarting their engines when they start to lose speed.
