I have a 94 chevy s-10 blazer v6. It was starting to spit and spudder and then it just quit. It does start back up at times but it won't stay running. It was in a repair shop and they could not figure out what was wrong with it, so I brought it home to work on it my self. It is not giving any codes and I have no clue on what it could be. Could any one give me a clue on what to do or try.

Could be fuel pump, filter or a number of things. I'd start by checking at the relief valve off the fuel rail and see if you have pressure there.

If it was at a repair shop, I would imagine that they ran through the basic diagnostics (ensuring fuel, air, and spark). How many miles are on the engine? I would throw a timing light on it to verify that the distributor is in proper time with the crank. Also, a compression check would not be out of question. If a repair shop missed the problem at hand, then I would like to rule out a simple sensor failure. Anything from a faulty MAF sensor (do the 94's have them???) to a faulty ignition control module (again does the 94 have one???)... Other things I would check out would be the cap and rotor for wear and carbon trails. Replace your fuel filter (it's cheap enough).

Major Pain, there is no fuel rail on a '94 CPI... Well, there isn't a fuel rail on any 4.3s for that matter. There is the fuel feed line where it goes down into the CPI or SCPI (depending on the year). I would hope that a fuel pressure check would be the first thing that a shop would go through when trouble shooting a problem of this nature.

No problem, other than that you're spot on with checking the fuel pressure. My point was that the shop should have already done that...

Pretty much the same way you posted here... Go out to the General Help section and click on the New Post button at both the top and bottom of the thread listing.

I would also check the fuel pressure first. Could be the fuel pressure regulator, you will have to take the intake apart to find out.
Could be a sensor like Swart said, and yes they ahve a MAP. At least my '87 does.
