2 inch suspension lift, 2 inch body lift, and some trimming needed.

instead of getting into a panic looking for answers try the search button, there are probably pages of info related to your question.

doing it all yourself will be $300-$400

rear shackles can be $50-$100
torsion twist - free
body lift $150-$250
wheel allignment $60-$80
trimming fenders- free.

you may also need new wheels.  most 33" tires are 12.5" wide which is too much for stock wheels.  in THIS THREAD Hanr3 explained that the max tire width on stock rims is 11.5"

I just wanted to thank you for serving our country and welcome home.

Just my opinion; I think I would want to use a little wider then stock rim with 12.5's

General rule of thumb is 4"-4.5". The tire can be a maximum of 4.5" wider then the rim. Your stock rim is 7", that puts your max tire width at 11.5", 12.5 are too wide for your rim. Another thing to do is check with the tire manufacture, they have recommended rim dimensions for every tire they make. Most have that info posted on-line at their website.

2WD Blazers dont have torsion bars. You need lift spindles like those from fab tech. Either that or spring spacers work too and they are cheaper but dont lift as much in most cases.

One thing to remember when lifting a 2wd it is a big recomendation to use lift spindles to maintain front end geometry so your other suspension parts to wear out faster, another thing is when using a lift spindle is to use tubular upper control arms they help big time with your camber, note to rob must find tubular upper control arms for yours lol!!

As a minimum Dana 30 in the front, ideally a Dana 44 is what i want. For the rear either a GM 8.5 or Ford 8.8. Much of this depends on what i can afford/find. Either way it seems that I'll be switching to a 5x4.5 bolt pattern as they dont offer dana's with 5x4.75 shafts. Either that or ill just get spacers for the rear if i stick with a GM 8.5 and on the front ill do a spacer adapter that will change it to 5x4.75.

that will kinda suck if you have to change bolt patterns since you already have nice wheels. the project itself will pretty cool

For some reason I was thinking that you have a 2dr model, but I show that the AWD was only available on 4dr models in '96. Which body style do you have? It would be easier if you would put your vehicle info into your signature so questions would be easier to answer. See mine for example.
