hey guys.....I have a 4x4 87 blazer i was thinking of removeing the 4wd to make it a 2wd..........anybody know what i need to change besides the driveshaft??

Any help please

You are in for some work to get this done... You could remove the front half shafts, but you would have to take the outer portion of the half shaft and remove it, reinstalling it into the front hub to keep it all together. You could then remove the front driveshaft and just keep the transfer case in 2wd mode all of the time.

Why not just leave the transfer case in 2wd...?

I was just thinking it would be better if i removed all the 4wd stuff............

What are you trying to accomplish?

If you plan on removing the transfer case, then the transmission will have to be changed as well (atleast removed to have the longer tail shaft installed)...

im more into lowered and bagged vehicles..........so maybe ill just trade it for a 2wd

A 2wd truck would be MUCH easier to do what you want to do with it... The other difficulty with a 4wd truck is that the front end has torsion bars and you would have to go full on custom with the frame/control arms to install bags. The shock tower in the front of a 4wd is not strong enough to support all of the front end weight.
