where i come from it is illegal, i got a ticket for doing that in a parking lot and i just took it to court and fought it, i have a fwd car (car i was in at the time) and you cant do donuts with it! (little do they know i was in reverse) so if your state is anything like mine, you get a 4point ticket, $145 fine, and maybe suspended liscense. if all else fails tell the cop you lost controll and that your tires are bad, works everytime!

well if the parking lot has no cars in it, tell him you didnt know it was illegal, and that there is no cars here so whats the problem, as long as your not tearin stuff up you should be fine lol, i mean it should be okay, its just haveing some fun. whats the worst that could happen?

If a cop comes just say its a new car and you havent driven it in the winter yet, so you want to test its capabilites. In an empty parking instead of a jam packed road.

Got me out of a ticket :)  He just said hurry up and be careful.

Yea I wouldn't do anything like that close to the city were there is alot of cops. I go out of the city a little bit to the dirt or old parking lot!!!

Yeah I do most of that up in the UP where I have been sideways on a roadway and the cop just waved and smilied. Otherwise in a populated area it would be illegal. I would try the new car excuse, it worked when my school's cops showed up. They just said move it to a non campus parking lot. At least where I am at they prefer that you don't do it in sight of other people and that you be safe about it and don't just do stupid stuff.

This is why I love living in a small town.  Right now there's one cop driving around and so far today we have got atleast a halffoot of snow  Boooyyy am I ever having fun out there haha.  The only roads plowed so far are a few main ones so I have all kinds of virgin snow to play in haha.

Yup it's a funnn time!  I honestly think I had more fun drifting around in my Breeze last year, the e-brake works alot better then having an open diff.  But I guess right now theres to much snow for the car to make it anywhere 4WD FTW!  Last year 2 cops had seen me drifting and neither did anything to that was pretty nice.  The best was pulling into are school parking lot that has like a long corner into it sideways stairing out the windshield at the school cop.  Of course I parked on the other end of the lot then and snuck in with some other kids.  It's kindof nice having the same car as I think there were atleast 8 other cloudcars in our parking lot.

i had a bad experience with school cops, i was doing reverse donuts in an EMPTY parking lot and got a wreckless ticket, so i took it to court and said i have a FWD vehicle, you cant do donuts in it. little did they know it was in reverse. got out of it, never did donuts in that parking lot again. plus its illegal, i do not suggest it.

Oh well at our school they wouldn't have done anything like that, maybe a detention at the worst I would have just said I came into the corner a little to fast haha.  Everyone with trucks would drift around in the parking lot and such and idk being in a small town has it's up's, not very many though.
