I've had a discussion last month about my car slowing down quick. In my last check up the mechanic told me that my catalytic converter needs to be replaced and my right front bearing hub sounds bad. My questions is do they effect on the car speed, and could that be the problem that I'm having with my car slowing down fast?

A bad front wheel bearing could cause a drag on the drivetrain.

A bad catalytic converter would also limit acceleration so unless you are having problems with upper RPM performance, your cat is probably still OK.  The only way to properly diagnose a catalytic converter is with a back pressure test where they would remove an O2 sensor before and after the catalytic converter and read the pressures.  They should be pretty close together.  If a large discrepancy is found, then the catalytic converter is bad.

Hey yazan, had the same problem occuring. When I was at crusing speds on the highway and took my foot off the gas pedal I noticed my truck would really slow down quicker then normal....now I have the constant drumming noise at highway speeds to contend with till I get it fixed
