Chevy Lover -> RE: Power Steering Flush & Brake Flush ? (12/3/2007 9:03:02 PM)

It's not a bad idea to do the flushes. All fluids get dirty and when they're dirty they actually help to wear out the components that they are supposed to lube and protect. Like changing your engine oil. Brake fluid is hydroscopic, which means that it picks up moisture from the air and mixes with it, so flushing the brake fluid is an excellent idea. By flushing the brake fluid and removing the moisture, the brake temperature should be lower and the brakes should work better. Water and brake fluid do not compress the same or dissipate heat the same. Getting the old dirty fluid out should also extend the life of the rubber seals in the sytem. If I followed my own advise, all my vehicles would still be like new...[:)]
