So it seems like we were doing good for awhile... Now, not so much.

Anyway, this is for anyone that posts really in ANY area of the forum requesting help on one thing or another. To aid those of us that wish to help out, we need to know certain things about your vehicle. These things should include the make, model, engine, drivetrain of your vehicle. To make it so you don't have to remember these things each and every time you need some help, please include this basic information in your signature. You can access your signature by clicking on the My Profile link in the second row of the top toolbar (image below).

Once in your profile, you will find a field labeled Signature (Max. 255) (image below).

For example, you could have '1999 Blazer 4wd 4.3L' only and people would know that you have the current vortec 4.3L with a push button 4wd system blah blah blah. In this case, you would only type "1999 Blazer 4wd 4.3L" in your sig.

In the event that more information needs to be included, please do so in the same post where you are asking a question. So if you are asking a question about the radio system, it would help to know if you only have a radio or if you have a tape deck, CD deck or a dual CD/tape deck...

This information should also include what has been done already to try to correct the problem.

Every extra bit of information we (those of us doing the helping) have will get us to the correct assessment of the problem much faster.

So to recap:
  • Include basic information about your vehicle in your Signature (My Profile-->Signature).
  • Include more concise information about the problem and any steps you have already taken in the post.

Hanr, Its the same truck we've been talking about in every other post, a 98' blazer, in a blazer forum. Go figure. But none the less, you're one of the few who who have been helping. So thank you. I have checked the fluid, its fine. I'll take it somewhere this week and have them check it out. What symptoms would suggest a torque converter?

Not everyone reads every post. Might be a good idea to put your Blazer in your Sig line, then no need to worry about including prudent info with every problem.

I really enjoy helping with mechanical repairs. I do it 'cause it keeps my mind working.
I do get very frustrated playing detective, trying to figure out what I'm trying to diagnose.
I look at the posters profile and sometimes their photo gallery just to figure out what they're driving.
The more information provided, the easier to diagnose.
