chevys rule -> How-To: 98-05 S-Series Radio Removal by chevys rule (12/12/2007 5:33:04 AM)

I want to give something to the Blazer/Jimmy guys well I'm here and the guys/girls that are getting a jimmy in the future

Note-the steps from 98-05 are the same

The Vehicle is a 2003 Jimmy SLS with RDS radio that these pictures are from

I Decided to take it upon my self and make a GOOD one. The ones I've been seeing aren't very good. I will be updating my Topic as I get the info.

Tools
1- 1/4 Driver, Ratchet or hand driver
2- 1 short 7mm shallow socket, Deep socket
3- panel popper

This is what the Radio bezel looks like

This picture is not from my camera, but shows the Bezel the best

Now your going to see this panel(four 7 mm bolts) one 7mm bolt is in each of those holes

Mind my shoe please
These are better pics

These two pictures are the Drivers left side and right side

Now that those are all taken out of the panel pull with a little tug, should just come down

There will be two 7mm bolts in these holes that need to be taken out
[image]http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/1cavy14/th_jimmyradiohowto001-1.jpg[/image][image]http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/1cavy14/th_jimmyradiohowto002-1.jpg[/image]

Don't forget to get this one out

Now we can start to remove the radio Bezel

Start with your hand here(if you can't get it use the panel popper) then move along. Just a little pull and the clips come out till you get to the radio

Now some of these plugs are really pain that blue one sure is

These will be the first ones you see that are on the back of these

These next 3 are from these If you don't have 4x4 on your truck you won't have this Blue plug
