I just bought a 94 jimmy w/180,000 miles on it 3 days ago and I gave it a minor tune up plugs, wires, oil/air/fuel filter, etc. Well today I went to the store and when I was heading back to my truck to leave and when I open my door I saw my flashers were on..I'm like WTF!?!!? I was thinking why are my flashers on?? I went to start it and it wouldn't even turn over. I noticed everytime that when the flashers were going on and off there was a beeping noise. Plus it will only go like for 30 seconds with the flashers on and then they will stop for about another 30 seconds and go back on again. I thought maybe my batter was dead but I still have have power everyy else and my headlights are really bright still. I checked my battery cables and they were tight. The only thing I did before I left was install my new pioneer cd player while it was runnin. fI don't know if messing around with that wiring would of done anything???? I just wired the battery wire to the cigeratte wire for power. I heard that some cars have anti theft stereo so if you take out the stereo the car won't start and you have to punch in a code to get it running again. Don't know if 94 jimmy has that option or not??? I got a ride home and it's sitting in the parking lot which sucks. Going to take a look at it tommorrow. I was checking other sites and they said that if the flashers are going on and off that it might be the anti theft system for locks. I never locked all the doors using the power locks except for tonight so don't know alot about the system and how it works.I don't have a owners manual either. Is there a way that you can reset or turn off the anti theft sytem....Or can you hot wire or start the jimmy by another way without using the ignition. Anybody have any Ideas??? Taking it too a shop is not a option for me because I have no money. Thanx for any info or help!
