I recently ordered the 4x4 posi-lok kit since the rubber diaphragm has a tear, and the t-case vacuum switch doesn't work.  In the meantime, I pulled the cable and clamped it with vice grips to keep the front axle engaged.  As long as the t-case stays in 4wd mode, is there any danger in keeping it this way until the kit arrives? Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

It shouldn't hurt anything whether in 2wd or 4wd to run it like that for a week or two.  It will just add drag and lower your MPG.
