as many of you know we had two hugh snow storms this weekend, well i was home alone, im 17 1/2 (my parents make big fuse of how dangerous it is, yeah i no its bad but i dont drive like and idot and try to avoid other people) so i deiced to go out and test the trck, but i came to a hill of dead locked trafic, but i new how to get around it so i did. when i came back to the top of the hill i saw the casue of the deadlock a single car who was not gonna make it up the hill being nice i got outof my truck, a few other joined me and we pushed the car up the hill by hand. i went back to my car and just sat there, one ather another they got stuck, they were usually bumped up by the truck behind them which was a s-10, a blazer the a nother s-10, these three trucks pushed those other three cars up a hill without a problem. i deiced i should go help around m y nebhiorhood since we have a really steep hill entering the nebihorhood, and as a expected people could not get up it iu pulled up next to him and asked if he needed help he said yeah if i could casue i guess hes been tring for the last hr, so i got behind him and shifted to netural placed truck in 4lo then shifthed to the "1" and started the slow and steady up wards journey. my truck had no trouble at all getting him all the was up the 1/2-3/4 mile hill, when i ws done he offered me money i tried to refuse casue i, and i dont know why had wanted to try pusihng a car up the hill(but he just push it iin my car so i had to accept it) i had now wanted to tring towing one up using the hitch hook(10,000 rated pounds) and a line rated for 4800(line would break before hitch would), with even having to wait there was a minivan at the bottom of the hill, who was also not gonna get up on her own accord, so i offered her help, i then used the cable and hook and hooked the cables to two tow hooks on the front of the van, i then put it in 4lo as i did before, and pulled the van up the hill with a little trouble butnot much. the basic reason behind my story it that these actually make good recover vechiles, or tow vehicle during the winter )

Good to hear. I pulled a broken down minivan out of an intersection couple weeks ago. Shackle receiver on the hitch and my new recovery straps sure are handy. Can't believe all the aholes that were honking at him as I pulled him out of the intersection to a side road. I guess nobody else out there has ever had car troubles.

I wouldnt have been able to pull anyone up a slick hill seeing as my 4 wheel drive is "disables" right now. but our trucks have quite a bit of torque for their size for sure. i would hve drivin back to that guy in the van that was being rude and strapped up to his grill or bumper cover and then drive away.

not a good idea to pull in reverse, it puts a lot of stress on the transmission.

It all depends on the vehicle, but the 4L60E is stronger when in forward gears than it is in reverse.
